Remote Control Unit or often being said as Control Station or Safety Switch is used to:
- Motor control
- Visual indication of equipment performance
- On-off control of circuits

Common applications include:
- Areas which are hazardous due to the presence of flammable vapors, gases or highly combustible dusts
- For installation at petroleum refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants and other process industry facilities where similar hazards exist
The explosion protected installation switches are for use in the Zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. The materials used have proved to be safe and reliable for both indoor and outdoor installations, in particular in chemical and offshore plants. The robust housings are made of a modified polyamide material.
